St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Greek Orthodox church in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
The cathedral features a 60-ton altar made of Pentelic marble and 23 stained glass windows illustrating scenes from Jesus and saints' lives.
The parish originated with John Cocoris in 1896, leading Greek sponge divers to settle in the area and establish their first church by 1907.
The interior displays numerous icons created by Greek iconographer George Saclaridis, maintaining traditional Orthodox artistic elements throughout the space.
The cathedral holds Divine Liturgy every Sunday at 9:00 AM, with additional Matins and Vespers services occurring Tuesday through Saturday.
Three large chandeliers from Czechoslovakia hang within the dome, while the altar originated from the Greek exhibit at the 1939 New York World's Fair.
