Aflac Building

The Aflac Building is the corporate headquarters for the Aflac insurance company in Columbus and rises 19 stories to a height of approximately 278 feet (85 meters). The structure functions as a modern office complex designed to house the company's operations and administrative functions in a single location.

The building was completed in 1975 as part of a modernization wave that reshaped Columbus's downtown area. Its construction coincided with other urban development projects that strengthened the city's economic infrastructure and business environment.

For decades, this was the tallest building in Georgia outside Atlanta, Savannah, and Augusta, making it a symbol of Columbus's economic independence from the state's larger metros. This distinction helped put the city on the map beyond its region.
