National Civil War Naval Museum at Port Columbus

The National Civil War Naval Museum contains warships, exhibits, and artifacts from both Union and Confederate naval forces across 40,000 square feet of exhibition space.

The museum holds the largest surviving Confederate warship, the CSS Jackson, recovered from the Chattahoochee River along with portions of other Civil War vessels.

The museum presents naval flags, weapons, ship models, and personal items that demonstrate the maritime experiences of both Northern and Southern sailors during the conflict.

Visitors can explore the museum Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Sunday from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM, with guided tours available throughout the day.

The facility maintains the largest collection of Brooke rifled naval cannons from Confederate foundries, including the biggest surviving piece of this artillery type.
