The 1,177-acre park features three lakes, forested trails, and the restored Liberty Hall mansion set among rolling hills of Georgia.
Alexander Hamilton Stephens, Vice President of the Confederate States and Georgia governor, owned this land until his death in 1883.
The Civil War museum contains an extensive collection of artifacts, including military equipment, personal items, and historical documents from Georgia.
The park provides 21 miles of equestrian trails, 30 horse stables, 25 camping sites, and four lakeside cottages for overnight stays.
The marble statue marking Stephens' grave stands on the front lawn of Liberty Hall, which served as a boardinghouse from 1883 to 1932.
