Located in central California, Arroyo Grande features a downtown district called The Village with local markets, independent shops, and restaurants.

The San Luis Obispo Board of Supervisors established the township of Arroyo Grande in 1862, with the northern Chumash Indians as initial inhabitants.

The Village district hosts regular community gatherings, local festivals, farmers markets, and seasonal celebrations throughout the year.

Visitors can access city information, community programs, and local updates through the official website and the newly launched My AG smartphone application.

The Swinging Bridge in Centennial Park, constructed in 1875, remains the only suspension footbridge of its type in California.
