M. H. de Young Memorial Museum, Art museum in San Francisco
The de Young Museum, located in Golden Gate Park, is one of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
Founded in 1895, it's named for early San Francisco newspaperman M. H. de Young.
It showcases American art from the 17th through the 21st centuries, international contemporary art, textiles, and costumes.
The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 am to 5:15 pm.
Its twisted copper facade is a distinctive feature.
