Lombard Street, Tourist attraction in San Francisco.
Lombard Street is known for the one-way block on Russian Hill, where eight sharp turns are said to make it the most crooked street in the world.
The design of Lombard Street was born out of necessity in order to reduce the hill's natural 27% grade, which was too steep for most vehicles.
It has become an iconic spot in San Francisco, featured in many films and TV shows.
Visitors can drive down the street or walk along the sidewalks on either side.
Despite its fame, it is not actually the most crooked street in San Francisco; that title goes to Vermont Street.
