Military Vehicle Technology Foundation, Military vehicle museum in Portola Valley, US.
The Military Vehicle Technology Foundation was a museum in Portola Valley that specialized in armored vehicles and military equipment. The collection of over 200 vehicles was housed in a 48,000-square-foot facility on Pony Tracks Ranch and displayed models from World War I onward.
The museum began in 1998 with a single M3A1 Scout Car and grew gradually into one of the largest private collections of military vehicles. Over the years, dozens of tanks, armored personnel carriers, and other combat vehicles from different countries and eras were added to the collection.
Jacques Littlefield, a Silicon Valley engineer, founded this collection to preserve military vehicles and document how their armor and engine technology changed over the decades. Visitors learned through guided tours how engineering solutions evolved to meet different combat needs.
Visitors needed to make advance reservations to attend Saturday tours, and knowledgeable guides led them through the facility. The guides explained the technical features and history of each vehicle in detail.
A restoration workshop was visible to visitors, where technicians constantly worked on preserving historic vehicles, including a rare German tank from World War II. This workshop showed the practical work needed to keep such machines in working condition.
