Montgomery Block was an iconic office building in San Francisco's financial district.
Once known as San Francisco's literary and artistic hub, Montgomery Block housed famous writers like Mark Twain.
The building served as a focal point for the Beat Generation in the mid-20th century.
Though demolished in 1959, the site remains a California Historical Landmark.
Montgomery Block was often called 'Monkey Block' and it survived the 1906 earthquake.
