United Presbyterian Church and Rectory, Gothic church in Albany, United States.
The United Presbyterian Church is a Carpenter Gothic-style church building from the 1890s featuring white spires and detailed woodwork on its exterior. The structure displays characteristic Gothic elements with decoratively worked wooden components throughout.
Architect Walter D. Pugh designed this religious building in 1891 for the local Presbyterian congregation. The structure received recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
The church houses a Kimball pipe organ from 1906 that continues to fill the interior with music during services. This instrument remains central to the worship experience for the congregation gathered here.
The building is located on SW 5th Avenue in Albany and features an elevator for all visitors to access the interior. Regular worship services take place, and those interested should check current hours before visiting.
The original congregation that worshipped here relocated and founded the Stone Church in 1913 nearby. Today the historic building stands in the Monteith Historic District as a reminder of an earlier phase of religious life in the area.
