The Northwest Library spans 11,000 square feet at 2300 NW Thurman Street, featuring collections in multiple languages and dedicated spaces for different age groups.
The Northwest Library opened its doors in January 2001 as part of the Multnomah County Library system to serve the growing Northwest Portland population.
The library maintains collections in Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Somali, and Vietnamese languages to support the neighborhood's multicultural community needs.
Visitors can access the library seven days a week, with extended evening hours until 8 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for additional convenience.
A new facility construction starting in 2024 will double the current space to include technology-equipped teen areas and flexible meeting spaces.
