The Classical Revival style mausoleum features multiple wings, halls, and niches designed specifically for holding both caskets and cremated remains at 5302 South Junett Street.
Constructed in 1910 as the first mausoleum west of the Mississippi River, the structure expanded with additional wings in 1917 and 1925 within Oakwood Hill Cemetery.
The National Register of Historic Places recognized this burial structure in 2000 for its architectural design by George Gove and Silas Nelsen.
Genealogy research requests require a fee of ten dollars for initial inquiries and five dollars for each subsequent request, with processing time extending to three weeks.
The mausoleum maintains a community vault in its basement section, which remains restricted from public access due to preservation protocols.
