Griffin Bay State Park, Marine park in San Juan County, United States.
Griffin Bay State Park is a marine park on the east side of its namesake bay on San Juan Island. The grounds cover approximately 15 acres with a rocky shoreline extending roughly 340 feet that slopes down to the saltwater of the bay.
This park was managed as part of the Cascadia Marine Trail system by Washington State Parks. Operations at this site ceased in August 2014 and it is no longer open to the public.
The park enforced specific access rules, permitting only visitors who arrived by human-powered or wind-powered watercraft to use its facilities.
This location is accessible only by water and is intended for paddlers and sailors with human or wind-powered boats. It offers limited accommodations and minimal infrastructure for visitors.
The park is entirely surrounded by private property and water, making water access the sole way to reach this location. This isolation made it an exclusive destination for paddlers on long-distance water journeys.
