American Legion Memorial Park is a 4-acre recreational space in Everett featuring tennis courts, baseball fields, and playgrounds, with views toward Port Gardner and Possession Sound. The grounds contain an arboretum with ten themed gardens including a Japanese Maple Grove with multiple varieties, plus over twenty sculptures integrated throughout the site.
The park developed as recreational land in a growing waterfront community that needed public gathering spaces alongside its maritime industry. In 2014, the northwestern viewpoint received the name Hibulb Lookout to honor a former Snohomish village that once occupied the area.
The memorial aspect weaves through the park as a tribute to those who served, shaping how the space is used for both reflection and everyday community activities. This dual purpose makes the grounds a gathering place where remembrance and recreation coexist naturally.
