Hardy Island Marine Provincial Park, Marine provincial park in Sunshine Coast Regional District, Canada.
Hardy Island Marine Provincial Park is a protected coastal area in British Columbia with rocky shorelines and wooded sections covering about 17 hectares. The landscape includes natural habitats for marine creatures and various plant life adapted to the seaside environment.
The park was established as a protected zone in 1992 under the name Musket Island Marine Park. It received its current name, Hardy Island Marine Provincial Park, in 2004.
The park preserves Indigenous heritage sites where local communities gathered resources from both land and sea for generations. These places remain visible today and show the deep connection between the region's original inhabitants and this coastal area.
Access requires a boat or kayak since there are no developed trails or facilities on-site. Visitors should pay attention to tidal patterns, as water levels and land coverage change throughout the day.
At high tide, the landscape temporarily becomes a small island, creating a sheltered space for marine life in Blind Bay. This regular transformation offers visitors a distinct natural display.
