Mount Wilson

Mount Wilson is a mountain with a distinctive flat-topped summit located in Clark County near Las Vegas. The peak rises to about 7,070 feet and stands out from the surrounding landscape due to its broad, level crown shape.

The mountain formed through geological processes over millions of years as different rock layers were deposited and compressed. These deposits reveal the geologic history of the region and how the landscape has evolved.

First Creek Canyon serves as the primary gateway for mountain enthusiasts who frequent this natural landmark within the Rainbow Mountain Wilderness.

Visitors should bring sturdy hiking boots and plenty of water, especially during warmer months. The best time to visit is from October through April when temperatures are more comfortable.

On clear days, the summit offers sweeping views across the entire Las Vegas Valley and several other mountain peaks. From this elevated vantage point, visitors can see Indecision Peak, Rainbow Mountain, and surrounding ridges.
