Château de Dampierre, French Baroque château in Dampierre-en-Yvelines, France.
The main building and its outbuildings form a symmetrical arrangement around a paved courtyard, with iron gates marking the entrance to the estate.
Jules Hardouin-Mansart constructed this château between 1675 and 1683 for the Duke of Chevreuse, who was Jean-Baptiste Colbert's son-in-law.
The grande galerie contains Hellenic friezes and reliefs by sculptor Pierre-Charles Simart, alongside an unfinished work by Ingres titled Age of Gold.
The château opens its doors to visitors through guided tours, allowing exploration of both the interior spaces and the surrounding formal gardens.
The park features a canal system and gardens designed by André Le Nôtre, with former parterres now transformed into hay-mowing fields.
