The estate became a marquisate for the Chaspoux family in 1746, with architect Jean Mansart de Jouy completing construction of the new castle between 1743 and 1756.

While the castle interior remains closed to visitors, the surrounding park area provides walking paths and views of both medieval and classical architectural elements.

The medieval castle survived the construction of its classical counterpart, creating a rare architectural ensemble that displays two distinct periods side by side.
