Château de Rupt-sur-Saône, Medieval castle in Rupt-sur-Saône, France

The castle features a 33-meter circular tower with walls that measure 3 meters thick at the base and narrow to 2.30 meters at the top.

The castle, built in the 12th century and initially owned by Guy de Pesmes, was purchased in 1820 by Empire general Albert Gaspard Grimod d'Orsay.

The estate combines multiple architectural styles, from medieval keep to manor house, including an Italian-style farm and a neo-gothic hunting pavilion.

Visits are possible from April 1st to October 31st, on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and public holidays from 10 AM to noon and 2 PM to 6 PM.

The castle grounds feature a three-hundred-year-old tulip tree, which marks the landscape from the terrace overlooking the Saône valley.
