Château Porgès de Rochefort-en-Yvelines

Château Porgès de Rochefort-en-Yvelines is a grand replica of Paris's Hôtel de Salm Kyrbourg, notable for its extensive gardens and distinctive water cascade spreading across roughly one hectare. The property now contains 15 meeting rooms and a 600-square-meter gallery designed for corporate events and seminars.

Jules Porgès, an Austrian diamond merchant, commissioned construction of this residence in 1898 as a gift for his wife Rose Anna Wodianer. During World War I it became a hospital, and later served briefly as a base for both German and American forces during World War II.

The interior rooms display collections of 18th-century furniture, bronzes, and ivory pieces arranged throughout grand reception halls and galleries. These artworks reflect the artistic taste and sophistication of those who once lived here.

The grounds are usually open to visitors but primarily used for business events and conferences. It is advisable to check ahead since availability for private tours may be limited.

This residence was a favorite of high society and attracted many influential Parisian guests during its prime years. Its architectural replica of a celebrated Parisian palace made it a symbol of refined living and prosperity.
