Patscher Alm

Patscher Alm sits at 1685 meters in a valley and includes several farm buildings and a guesthouse beside the Schwarzach river. The location forms a small settlement within pastureland surrounded by mountain terrain.

The pasture has long been owned by farmers from the Defereggen region, while neighboring areas were once managed by farmers from South Tyrol. This location between two regions shaped the place's history over centuries.

The alpine guesthouse serves regional meals prepared using local recipes that reflect mountain traditions. Visitors can take a break here between hikes and try typical dishes made with ingredients from the surrounding area.

Access is via a toll road that also leads to other pastures and hiking trails in the area. Visitors should expect steep climbs and wear sturdy footwear, especially when exploring the surrounding high-altitude paths.

From here, trails connect multiple pastures and mountain huts, allowing hikers to see various peaks like Hutner and Almerhorn. The location serves as a gateway for multi-hour mountain tours through this less-visited valley region.
