During World War II, the German army established strategic positions on Latisberg, with the 8th Fighter Division headquarters operating from nearby Cobenzl Castle.

Multiple marked hiking paths connect Latisberg to neighboring peaks, with the Cobenzl-Hermannskogel trail extending 9.25 kilometers with 314 meters elevation gain.
