Aiglon College, Private boarding school in Ollon, Switzerland
Aiglon College is a private boarding school spread across multiple buildings on a campus in the Swiss Alps at 1,227 meters (4,000 feet) elevation. It offers International Baccalaureate and IGCSE programs in small classes of about 10 to 12 students.
The school was founded in 1949 by John C. Corlette, who brought educational ideas from Gordonstoun School in Scotland. Starting with six students, it grew into an established international school in the Alps.
Students come from more than 60 countries and interact daily in a setting that celebrates different backgrounds. This international mix shapes how people live and learn together on campus.
The school sits at about 1,227 meters (4,000 feet) and is accessible by road from Ollon; the alpine location means cooler weather and snowy conditions in winter. Visitors should prepare for cold temperatures and wear sturdy footwear.
Mountain expeditions and winter sports are woven into the school day and use the Alpine setting as part of learning. These activities in a mountain environment set the educational experience apart from typical boarding schools.
