The Pax building is an eight-story administrative structure at Aeschenplatz that rises to 40.8 meters with a modern glass facade and gray clinker brick surfaces. It contains over 12,000 square meters of office space with advanced climate control systems and multiple entry points throughout.
Construction of the current structure took place from 1992 to 1997, replacing earlier buildings on the site. The new design preserved certain architectural elements from the original development.
The building features artworks by Teresa Hubbard, Alexander Birchler, Barbara Maria Meyer, and Markus Gadient displayed throughout its interior and common areas. These pieces shape how people experience the spaces as they move through the structure.
The building is accessible from several entry points connected to the surrounding streets. Keep in mind that this is an active administrative facility, so interior areas may have restricted access.
The structure occupies a triangular plot with two parallel wings aligned along St. Alban-Anlage and Malzgasse. This distinctive shape encloses a green courtyard that brings a quieter feel to the workplace.
