Comborsin, Mountain pasture in Vaud, Switzerland
Comborsin is a mountain pasture located at the foot of Pointe de Sur Combe peak in Vaud canton. The area features natural rock formations and two geological cavities visible in the landscape.
This pasture belongs to the commune of Rougemont, which has practiced alpine farming for centuries. The region has preserved its traditional methods of livestock raising to this day.
Shepherds still use this pasture today to raise cattle and produce cheese on-site, keeping alive the tradition of alpine farming in this region. The daily work in the chalets connects people to the land and its rhythm.
The pasture is accessible via a marked hiking trail starting from the Videmanette cable car station. Trails vary in difficulty and accessibility depends on seasonal conditions and snow cover.
A natural lake called Gour de Comborsin fed by a mountain stream creates a quiet water space within the pasture. This small lake plays an important role in the local ecosystem.
