Fort Peck Dam, Hydroelectric dam in Montana
The Fort Peck Dam is the highest of six major dams along the Missouri River, located in northeast Montana.
Built between 1933 and 1940, Fort Peck was a major part of the New Deal program.
The dam's construction resulted in the creation of Fort Peck Lake, the largest man-made lake in Montana, which has become a significant recreational area.
