Lakeland Provincial Park, Provincial park in Lac La Biche County, Canada.
Lakeland Provincial Park is a nature reserve in Lac La Biche County that features 11 lakes connected by trails and waterways. The park offers opportunities for hiking, canoeing, and skiing in a setting with multiple camping areas throughout the region.
The area received official park status in 1992 following extensive regional planning for recreational development. Facilities were built in part through a community program in the early 1990s that engaged indigenous workers.
First Nation and Métis prison inmates contributed to building park facilities in the early 1990s through a program supporting indigenous community integration.
The main entry point is Jackson Lake Staging Area, which provides access to marked trails and backcountry sites throughout the park. Spring through fall offers the best conditions for most activities, while winter brings different opportunities for visitors.
The park contains Alberta's only backcountry canoe circuit, a 40-kilometer route through connected lakes with multiple portages. This route attracts paddlers from across the region who specifically seek out this rare paddling experience.
