The Don Harrington Discovery Center is a science museum in Amarillo featuring interactive displays on physics, biology, astronomy, and technology arranged throughout multiple gallery spaces. The Don Harrington Discovery Center is a nonprofit science center and planetarium in Amarillo's hospital district, named after philanthropist Don Harrington. Its planetarium was renovated in 2003 and fitted with Digistar 3 fulldome video projection. In front stands the Helium Centennial Time Columns Monument, designed in 1967 by Peter Muller Munk Associates and built in 1968 with U.S. Steel to mark the centennial of helium's discovery.

The center is named for philanthropist Don Harrington and is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. It belongs to the Association of Children's Museums Reciprocal Program and the Association of Science-Technology Centers Passport Program, so members get free or reduced admission at participating museums across the United States.

The museum operates throughout the week with different hours on weekdays and weekends, so it's helpful to check the schedule before your visit. Groups can arrange special rates, which makes it a good option for organized visits or school trips.

The monument doubles as a sundial: its features are oriented to the Sun so it can tell the time. Its four capsules were set to open 25, 50, 100 and 1,000 years after 1968; the first was opened in 1993 and the second on September 29, 2018, when over 300 donated items were later sealed back in.
