Mole Beach

Mole Beach stretches for about 1 kilometer along the eastern coast of Florianópolis and features coarse sand with medium to large waves. The shoreline drops steeply into the water, creating strong currents that make it ideal for experienced water sports enthusiasts.

The beach remained largely unknown until the 1980s when surfers discovered its excellent conditions and began coming regularly. This growing popularity led to the development of nearby hotels and increased infrastructure in the area.

The beach has become a gathering place for surfers and water sports enthusiasts who share a laid-back lifestyle. The open atmosphere here reflects the community that has formed around the waves and outdoor activities.

You can reach the beach by walking from Highway SC-406, with parking spaces available among the trees nearby. Arriving early is recommended, especially during peak seasons when parking fees may be charged.

The beach floor drops away more steeply than many nearby beaches, bringing deep water close to the shore very quickly. This unusual feature is exactly what draws experienced surfers seeking powerful wave conditions.
