StadtTheater walfischgasse

StadtTheater walfischgasse is a theater venue in Vienna's inner city that hosts diverse stage productions. The building contains a main auditorium with approximately 270 seats and a smaller performance space called theaterCercle located in the foyer for more intimate shows.

The theater opened in 1959 as Neues Theater am Kärntnertor before being renamed in 2004. The change of name under director Anita Ammersfeld represented a shift toward its current focus on cabaret and political productions.
