Wildseeloder, Alpine summit in Tyrol, Austria
Wildseeloder is a mountain in the eastern Kitzbühel Alps with a height of 2,119 meters (6,952 feet). Its steep flanks offer several climbing routes that lead to the summit from different starting points.
Wildseeloderhaus refuge was built in the early 1900s below the summit and marked the start of organized climbing in this region. This mountain hut opened the peak to a wider range of visitors.
The paths crossing this mountain connect valley communities to high alpine meadows in a way that shaped settlement patterns for centuries. Visitors can see how the landscape reflects this deep connection between people and the terrain.
The climb starts at the valley station in Fieberbrunn and follows marked paths to the mountain refuge. From there, allow 2 to 3 hours to reach the summit, depending on your experience and conditions.
Below the summit lies Lake Wildsee, an alpine mountain lake nestled in a natural rock basin whose surface mirrors the surrounding peaks. This lake is visible from several climbing routes and adds to the area's appeal.
