Ferry-Dusika-Hallenstadion, Indoor velodrome in Leopoldstadt, Vienna, Austria.
Ferry-Dusika-Hallenstadion is an indoor sports hall built around a 250-meter wooden cycling track designed for track cycling events. The circular structure also houses a 200-meter running track used for athletics competitions.
The venue opened in 1976, replacing an older cycling track that had stood beside Prater Stadium since 1931. The new building became part of Vienna's modernized sports infrastructure during that era.
The facility served multiple functions beyond sports, including providing temporary shelter for refugees during the 2015 crisis in Vienna.
The hall holds about 5,300 spectators and sits right next to Stadion station on the U2 metro line. Visitors can reach the venue easily using public transport from anywhere in the city center.
The arena hosted the 1987 UCI Track Cycling World Championships and also served as the venue for the 1979 European Athletics Championships. This dual use shows how versatile the facility is and what major international competitions took place here.
