Feuerkogel, Mountain summit in Gmunden District, Austria.

The Feuerkogel is a 1,592-metre summit in the Höllengebirge, a range of the Northern Limestone Alps. It forms the eastern end of the chain that runs between the Attersee and the Traunsee, rising above the lake's southern shore west of Ebensee am Traunsee in Upper Austria.

A cable car system was constructed in 1927 from Ebensee to make the mountain more accessible. A ski lift was installed in 1936, establishing the site as a destination for mountain sports.

The summit hosts an annual mountain race each August that brings runners and spectators together to experience the alpine landscape. This event has become an important gathering for the local community and visiting athletes.

The Feuerkogelseilbahn has run from Ebensee to the mountain since 1927, saving the climb to the Berghotel Feuerkogel. From the top, trails lead to the Großer Höllkogel and the Höllengebirgs crossing via the Rieder Hütte. In winter, lifts serve 12 km of pistes, including a 6 km unprepared valley run down to Ebensee.

A weather station of ZAMG/Geosphere stands near the summit at 1620 m. During Hurricane Lothar on 26 December 1999 it recorded a wind speed of 218 km/h, and in January 2007, during Kyrill, 207 km/h, the second-highest value in Austria.
