Bildungshaus St. Arbogast, Educational center in Götzis, Austria

Bildungshaus St. Arbogast is an educational facility in Götzis comprising seminar buildings, three guest houses, and a chapel arranged around a planted courtyard. The facility provides accommodation for about 125 guests across various room types, including single rooms, double rooms, and larger multi-bed options with modern bathrooms.

St. Arbogast opened as a youth house on 8 December 1960, after thousands of young people of the Catholic Youth of Vorarlberg, led by youth pastor Anton Nenning, had campaigned for its construction. The economic building and house 1 were built in 1959 to plans by Anton Rhomberg and Hans Feßler; the chapel and houses 2 and 3 followed between 1967 and 1969 and were opened in 1970, with the chapel dedicated to the Holy Spirit. The main building was rebuilt from 1991 to 1993 to plans by Hermann Kaufmann and Christian Lenz with structural engineer Ingo Gehrer. August Christa, one of the early activists, directed the house from its opening until 1989.

The house takes its name from Saint Arbogast, and its chapel, built 1967–1969 and consecrated in 1970, is dedicated to the Holy Spirit. The concrete Water House by artist Fridolin Welte, a 5 × 5 m cube pierced by 820 circular holes, is used for meditation and for educational events on water, creation spirituality and environmental awareness.

The grounds are easy to navigate with clear pathways throughout the facility and parking available on site. Visitors should bring suitable footwear to comfortably explore the surrounding forest trails and outdoor areas.

On a meadow near the Bildungshaus stands the Water House, a 5 × 5 metre concrete cube pierced by 820 circular holes. Artist Fridolin Welte won a competition on water and art in construction with the design, realised in 2003 with Christian Lenz. The pavilion serves as a meditation room and for educational events on water, creation spirituality and nature experience.
