The Gerlossteinbahn is a pendulum aerial tramway from Hainzenberg in Tyrol to a station below the Gerlosstein at 1643 metres. Its two paired double gondolas, each pair carrying 54 people, run on a 2269-metre line with a 713-metre height difference and a maximum gradient of 60 percent.

The Gerlossteinbahn was built in 1960 by the company Waagner Biro for the Zeller Bergbahnen, connecting Hainzenberg in the Zillertal with the Gerlossteinalm at 1,643 metres. In 1988 it received a major overhaul, including four new cabins from Swoboda, now known as Carvatech. The lift serves the Gerlosstein ski area, part of the Zillertal Arena.

The cable car is run by Zeller Bergbahnen and feeds the Gerlosstein ski area, part of the Zillertal Arena. In winter a floodlit toboggan run starts about 100 metres from the top station and stays open until 1 a.m., with the cable car running to bring sledgers back up.

The cable car operates from May through October on most days. It is best to visit in the morning hours when mountain weather tends to be clearest.

The cable car is a Gruppenpendelbahn: two groups of two coupled cabins run in opposite directions on separate tracks, each cabin holding 27 people. In winter a floodlit toboggan run starts about 100 metres from the top station and stays open until 1 a.m., with the lift running to carry sledgers back up.
