Gerlossteinbahn

The Gerlossteinbahn is an aerial cable car in Hainzenberg that carries visitors from the valley to a mountain ridge. The ride gains roughly 650 meters in elevation over a distance of about 2.3 kilometers.

This cable car was built in 1988 to make it easier for visitors to reach the mountain areas of the Zillertal region. Its construction was part of efforts to open up the area for tourism.

The cable car connects visitors to a place where hikers and climbers from across the region gather together. The area has long served as a meeting point for people who love the mountains and return here regularly.

The cable car operates from May through October on most days. It is best to visit in the morning hours when mountain weather tends to be clearest.

At the mountain station, visitors find a via ferrata, a secured climbing route, and can also launch into a zipline adventure from here. These combinations make the location a varied destination for different kinds of mountain adventures.
