Burg Rabenstein stands on a rocky cliff above the Mur River at 532 meters elevation, controlling the valley passage through Styria.
Originally named Rammenstein after Hartnid Schenk von Rammenstein in 1240, the castle burned down in the late 15th century and was rebuilt by the Harrach family.
The castle functions as an exhibition center, presenting art collections and hosting craft markets with local artisans displaying their creations throughout the year.
Visitors can reach the castle using a panoramic lift from the parking area, which accommodates 100 vehicles in the valley below.
The castle combines historical architecture with modern technology, featuring an advanced heat pump system while maintaining its medieval structural elements.
