Gehrenspitze

The Gehrenspitze rises to an elevation of 2,367 meters within the Wetterstein mountain range, featuring steep rocky slopes and exposed ridges leading to its peak.

The mountain paths to Gehrenspitze developed during the 19th century as local shepherds established routes to guide their livestock through the surrounding alpine meadows.

Traditional mountain festivals at the base of Gehrenspitze celebrate alpine customs with local music, regional food specialties, and mountaineering demonstrations.

The ascent to Gehrenspitze requires approximately seven hours round trip, with the trailhead beginning near the bakery in Gasse village of Leutaschtal.

The summit provides a natural observation point where hikers can view both the Karwendel mountains and the entire stretch of the Wetterstein range simultaneously.
