Witches' Water, Mountain theme park in Söll, Austria.
Witches' Water is an outdoor theme park on an alpine meadow above Söll, in the Tyrolean Alps of Austria, built around water, nature, and movement. The park is made up of several open-air stations spread across the hillside, each one offering a different activity involving water, wood, stone, or earth.
The meadow where the park sits was used for alpine farming and seasonal grazing for generations, following a pattern common across the Tyrolean mountains. When the park was developed, it kept the open character of the pasture, which still gives the site its shape today.
The name Witches' Water refers to old mountain legends about mysterious springs and witches said to live in the high alpine pastures. Visitors can follow these stories as they move from one station to the next, each one tied to a different tale.
A gondola lift from the village of Söll brings visitors up to the park and can carry strollers and wheelchairs. The park is open in summer, and the water stations are best enjoyed on warm days when children can get wet without discomfort.
A barefoot path winds through the park, guiding walkers across patches of moss, wet sand, bark, and smooth stones. Most visitors expect the water stations to be the highlight, but many end up remembering this path more than anything else.
