Built between 1928 and 1929 to designs by Robert Hartinger and Silvio Mohr, the church was dedicated by Cardinal Archbishop Friedrich Gustav Piffl. This construction period reflects the architectural developments that shaped early 20th century Vienna and its expanding neighborhoods.

The marble high altar originates from Wilhelminenberg Castle's chapel and displays a life-size statue of Saint Therese alongside two kneeling angel figures. This arrangement connects two important locations and makes the castle's presence felt within this sacred space.

The church is located at Pönningerweg 2 and can be entered through two side gates for regular visits, while the main portal is reserved for special occasions. The side entrances make it straightforward to explore the interior whenever you happen to pass by.

The stained glass windows were designed by Reinhold Klaus and depict scenes from Saint Therese's life. They shape the interior light and serve as a visual reminder of her veneration as patroness of missions and Vienna.
