The Rathaus Klagenfurt spans fifteen window axes in length and seven in width, occupying the entire western edge of Neuer Platz.
The foundation of the current town hall was laid between 1580 and 1582 by Paul Fertig, who served as secretary to the provincial governor.
The Renaissance portal, constructed from chlorite schist, features a rectangular design with round arches and columns topped with spherical elements.
The town hall contains administrative offices, hosts civic ceremonies, and remains open for public access during regular municipal business hours.
A double-running staircase inside the building mirrors the architectural style found in the courtyard of the Landhaus complex.
