Raritätenzoo Ebbs is a zoo in Austria that houses hundreds of animals from many different species spread across a large area at the base of a mountain. The grounds include several sections to explore, plenty of seating areas, and a refreshment stand for visitors throughout their stay.
The first enclosures were built by hand in the Kruck area in the 1970s. The park opened to visitors on 1 May 1991 and was later recognised as a scientifically managed zoo. After 2000, financial difficulties threatened its survival until new operators took over in January 2007 and built new facilities.
The zoo serves as a place where visitors can observe animals in spaces designed to reflect their natural habitats and learn about different species. School groups and families regularly visit to experience animals from various ecosystems and understand their behaviors.
The grounds can be explored on foot, and handcarts are available if you get tired or need to transport belongings. There are play areas for children scattered throughout, and you can take breaks and rest anywhere in the park.
The zoo began as a bird park in the Kruck area, where the first enclosures were built by hand in the 1970s, and it opened to visitors on 1 May 1991. In 2011, its 20th anniversary year, it was rated "very good" by the ARGE Top Tierparke Österreich for species-appropriate keeping and zoological care.
