Postalm

Located at 1691 meters in the Venediger group, Postalm offers views of the surrounding peaks and serves as a rest point for mountain travelers.

The mountain hut belonged to the Gasthaus zur Post in Neukirchen and has remained with the Ernst family, formerly Maier, since 1911.

The establishment maintains traditional Alpine hospitality while incorporating modern sustainability practices through five different energy systems.

Visitors can reach the hut via a forest path from Hopffeldboden parking area, with the walk taking approximately two and a half hours.

The facility demonstrates environmental innovation through its hydropower system, thermal solar installations, photovoltaics, hydrogen electrolysis, and biogas production.
