The Technisch-Naturwissenschaftliche Fakultät der JKU Linz is a building complex at the center of the university campus housing laboratories, lecture halls, and research facilities for engineering and science disciplines. The spaces are equipped with modern instruments and serve students and researchers for hands-on work and theoretical study.

The faculty was established in 1969 and developed into a major scientific institution in Austria. In 1972 it introduced one of the country's first computer science study programs.

The faculty's name honours astronomer Johannes Kepler, who taught mathematics in Linz from 1612 to 1626. Its computer science roots go back to Adolf Adam's Linz Information Science Programme, taught from 1967/68, before the faculty itself existed.

The campus is easily accessible from the city center by public transport and offers good navigation through clear signage throughout the grounds. Visitors should note that certain laboratory areas require prior permission to enter.

The TNF-Turm was occupied on 12 December 1977, before construction was finished, and officially opened on 28 November 1978. Computer science had been taught in Linz since the winter semester 1967/68 through Adolf Adam's Linzer Informationswissenschaftliches Programm, before the faculty even existed.
