Rosa Lila Villa, LGBTQ+ community center in Linke Wienzeile, Austria
The pink-colored Rosa Lila Villa contains residential spaces, consultation rooms, and a restaurant named Villa Vida on the ground floor.
Through negotiations with Vienna's deputy mayor in 1984, activists secured a 30-year lease for the building that was initially scheduled for demolition.
The center divides its services between Lila Tip for lesbian counseling and Turkis Rosa Tippp for transgender, gay, and queer support programs.
The building features barrier-free access, tactile guidance systems, Braille lettering, and contrast markings to ensure accessibility for all visitors.
In 2016, the Villa established Queer Base, a specialized initiative supporting LGBTIQ refugees, which received the Bruno Kreisky Human Rights Prize.
