Schlick, Ski resort in Stubai Valley, Austria
Schlick is a ski resort in Stubai Valley that covers terrain from 1000 to 2240 meters elevation. With roughly 25 kilometers of slopes on north-facing mountainsides and nine lift systems, it offers runs for different skill levels.
The area became a winter sports destination during the latter half of the 20th century, with infrastructure gradually built up to meet growing demand. Modern lift systems were progressively added to serve skiers coming to the valley.
Mountain lodges throughout the resort serve traditional Tyrolean cuisine, creating social gathering spots where skiers pause to enjoy local food. These dining spaces reflect how skiing culture has blended with regional eating customs in the valley.
The resort is best visited during winter months from December through April when conditions are optimal. On-site equipment rental and ski schools are available, and children under 10 ski free when accompanied by a paying adult.
The Stubaipark area features speed measurement and altitude tracking systems that let visitors monitor their performance while skiing. This technology adds a playful element where skiers can track how their runs compare to others on the slopes.
