Schlicker Seespitze, Alpine summit in Kalkkögel range, Austria
Schlicker Seespitze is a rocky summit about 2,804 meters high formed of solid dolomite with steep cliff faces on multiple sides. Its location in the southwestern part of the Stubai massif means the rock here shows particularly rugged and exposed sections.
The first documented climb took place in 1879 when Carl Gsaller pioneered a route through the rocky terrain. This early mountaineering event marks an important moment in how climbing developed in this region.
This summit has long drawn climbers from across the region who come to test themselves on its varied routes. Local huts have fostered connection between climbers over time, turning mountaineering here into a gathering place for the community.
Climbing this mountain requires mountaineering experience and proper gear for exposed rock. The main approach starts from the Seejöchl area, where nearby huts offer shelter and local guidance.
The mountain is crowned by the Schlicker Manndln, a series of rock pinnacles that rise along the southern ridge. These distinctive formations are visible from far away and make the peak easy to spot in the surrounding landscape.
