Built between 1887 and 1888, the villa served as the residence of the industrial Schindler family until 1950, when it transitioned to rental properties.

The municipality of Kennelbach purchased the structure in 1992, converting it into residential units while maintaining its status as a protected monument.
Friedrich Wilhelm Schindler developed numerous electrical innovations in the villa, including an electric stove and a central vacuum system before 1900.
