The Maria Rehkogel church stands on a ridge in the Fischbach Alps, featuring a late Gothic nave with side chapels and a western tower.
The first chapel was built in 1354, followed by the construction of the main church between 1489 and 1496 under the direction of a stonemason from Praunau.
The church houses sculptures by artist Veit Königer and contains a Rococo pulpit decorated with figures representing Christian virtues.
The church maintains its status as an active parish within the Diocese of Graz-Seckau, with regular services and pastoral care under Konrad Sterninger.
According to local records, the church location was determined when a deer led farmers to discover a Pietà statue that repeatedly returned to this spot.
