Hirschberg

Hirschberg is a mountain summit in the Bregenzerwald range that rises to 1834 meters and features gentle slopes accessible from different angles. From the top, visitors see surrounding Alpine peaks, forests, and distant landscapes stretching in multiple directions.

The mountain became important during the 19th century when farmers used established paths to transport goods between valleys. These old routes now form the basis for today's hiking trails in the region.

The Dreifaltigkeitskapelle chapel at 1025 meters serves as a gathering point where visitors begin their journey and reflects how the local community integrates faith into mountain life. Such chapels show how people here view mountains as part of their spiritual landscape.

The hike takes several hours with moderate grades, and there are rest stops available along the route. The best time to visit is from spring through autumn when conditions are safest for walking.

From the summit, visitors can see three distinct landscapes at once: the dense forest of the Bregenzerwald, the distant waters of Lake Constance, and the mountain ranges of the Allgäu. This meeting of three regions makes the location special and offers a rare view across boundaries.
