Stadionbrücke, Vienna, Steel bridge over Danube Canal in Vienna, Austria.
The Stadionbrücke is a steel structure spanning the Danube Canal and connecting the Landstrasse and Leopoldstadt districts. The bridge stretches over 82 meters and features wide lanes for vehicles along with separate paths for cyclists and pedestrians.
The original structure was built in 1873 for the Vienna World Exhibition by the Paris-based company Fives-Lille. It was destroyed during World War II and reconstructed in 1959.
The bridge connects directly to the Ernst-Happel Stadium and shapes the area as a gateway for visitors attending events there. People use it daily to reach matches and concerts, making it a familiar passage for sports fans and entertainment seekers.
The bridge is accessible daily for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicle traffic, maintained regularly for safety. Its wide design makes crossing straightforward and secure for all users.
Until 1945, a station of the Pressburg Railway occupied this site, following the course of the Danube Canal. This historic rail connection shaped the area for decades before disappearing during the war.
